I started the New You Plan in early January this year. I’d lost a lot of weight a few years ago but had never made the final push to get rid of the last 5 stone. I felt big and sluggish this Christmas and needed a final kick. Seeing one of my long term friends lose so much weight on the plan really inspired me and made me realise that the last bit of weight loss was completely achievable with the right mind set. She looked stunning but was so much healthier and happier! She referred me to the NY Plan and I’ve never looked back.

I started at 13st 2 lbs. I’ve lost two stone far, bringing me to 11st 2lbs. My aim is to lose another 2 stone by July – just in time for the summer! I’ve dropped two dress sizes. I’ve gone from a size 16 on top to a size 12. And I’ve gone from a size 18 on bottom to a size 14.

My reasons for starting the diet is to look better in clothes and to feel more energised – which I definitely do!!! I really felt like I was always the biggest person in the room and that needed to change quickly. I wanted to feel that there was more to me than my weight. I also wanted more confidence in myself and a sense of self-worth.

In just this short time of being on The New You Plan I am now wearing a size 14 short skirt and feeling amazing in it! I’m also no longer self-conscious when I go on a night out and get lots and lots of compliments!! It’s amazing how people react to me at my half-way weight loss stage. I feel empowered, confident and even more eager to get to my goal weight.

The personal touch at The New You Plan is comforting and reassuring. I feel like I’m constantly surrounded by a team who are always there to help when I need them. I enjoy seeing faces to the names in the office and also feel that, with members of the team currently on the plan, they know exactly how to give me the best hints and tips. They fully understand any problems I may encounter. The secret slimmers group has been ideal for me. I have Facebook on my iPhone and the notifications throughout the day are constant motivation. Seeing other people’s weight loss achievements, in particular the pictures, are a constant pleasure.

If you are starting out on the diet my advice to you is, stick with it past day 3 and the plan will be your best friend. You’ll feel lighter by the day and have HUGE amounts of energy. I’m constantly in shock at how good all of the products taste! It really doesn’t feel like hard work at all – in fact, it feels like I’m treating myself everyday! Oh, and drink, drink, drink!!!

In terms of my success tips, organisation is key for me to staying on track – keeping plenty of spare packs in my handbag, just incase! A NY plan buddy is also vital for me. We text each other daily to keep on track, encouraging each other and congratulating each other on our successes.

I work in quite a hectic job and can be out and about all day so the meal packs are ideal for me. I always get in a shake for breakfast before I leave the house. Then I split a bar in half for my morning and afternoon snack. Soups for lunch are then ideal because I can normally find a kettle. My favourite meal is in the evening when I eat a hot meal like cottage pie or spicy noodle nosh. By splitting the bar in the day, it closes up the gaps in-between eating. In the first week, it really helped to prevent any hunger pangs. Luckily, my water intake has always been easy. I constantly carry a water bottle which I refill throughout the day. It LITERALLY never leaves my hand so I’m constantly sipping throughout work. I often hit my 2.5 minimum by 2pm so from then on it’s all a bonus!

In terms of my time on refeed I found the refeed easy at the beginning i.e. still keeping NY food packs and adding in evening meals. It was slightly more scary taking out NY products altogether but just kept thinking about having lots of veg and protein. Chicken salads minus the dressing etc.

In relation to exercise, this was always quite an important part of my life before the NY plan and I was keen to keep this throughout. I work in a very active job and try to go to the gym or a fitness class three times a week when I have the time. Occasionally I would have an extra NY product when I was having an extremely active day which kept me on the plan, focused, but ensured I had enough energy to get me through.

My favourite products:

I absolutely love the hot meal replacements – it was a huge attraction when I began the plan. I like to enjoy my food, but nowadays the tasty food is benefitting me!! They really satisfy my hunger and I’m a big fan of spicy food. I also love the chocolate cream cookie bar! Still can’t fully comprehend how food that delicious is helping me to lose weight! The simplicity of NY products is brilliant – no measuring or weighing – such a relief.

My advice to anyone thinking of starting the diet… Do it – and do it now! Don’t wait any longer!! I only wish I’d known about it sooner. You will NOT regret it!
