week4Welcome to week 4 of my Fresh Focus blog, I normally weigh in after I have finished my week. I decided to weigh in this morning and in my 4 weeks on plan I have lost 7lbs! I am so happy, that’s half a stone gone and my BMI is now 25.2, I’m so close to being in a healthy range and I know I can do this.

This week I am going to give you an overview of my weight loss over the last few years. I have never published my weight before, I don’t know if you’ve noticed but if you read my other blogs it’s something I’ve always left out. Why? Well I have been so embarrassed of my weight for such a long time that I think writing it down or saying it to someone else fills me with shame. But this is me being accountable and also acknowledging how far I have come.

At my heaviest which was January 2014 I was 15 stone and 3 lbs, I remembering crying when I got off the scales. I had not been taking care of my healthy, my body or even my mind. I was in such a negative cycle of feeling awful about myself and then continuing to comfort eat.

As of this morning I am now 11 stone 7 lbs, which isn’t perfect but I’m getting there. I have been looking back through old photos and seeing the size I had gotten to is shocking, for me at least

When I look back at my weight loss journey the first thing that hits me is, why. Why did I not start sooner, why was I so complacent? I was so unhappy, a shadow of my former self. I would avoid mirrors and hide in the back of pictures. But the truth is sometimes we need to get to the last straw, and that pushes us over the edge.

In April of last year my partner of 4 years split up with me, I felt so awful. I attributed the way I looked to the reason we split up. I was very hard on myself, I didn’t feel beautiful anymore. I thought that no-one would ever see me that way again either.  It was then that I came to the realisation that I needed to find myself beautiful, that I needed to love myself. And it’s in that moment that I realised that this was my time. I could either let myself spiral and gain more weight, or I could take control of my life and start living it!

Since then I have lost 52lbs, 29lbs of that on The New You Plan and 7lb of that on Fresh Focus! I am so happy and focused that I am going to get to my goal on Fresh Focus.

This week I wanted to share with you what a typical day for me would look like on Fresh Focus, as a lot of you had been asked me (which I love by the way, please feel free to drop me a message)
