Good morning my mantra would have to be

If you can imagine it you can create it.
If you can dream it you can become it.

It has helped me so much and I have made some good decisions in my life because of it, I tell my kids this all the time, nothing or no one can change us, we can do what we want to do , be what we want to be, nothing is out of our reach <3

Morning Julz, another beautiful day and the beginning of day 4. I have decided that my mantra is me, my body deserves much more respect than i’ve been giving it for quite a while now, food is fuel and i wouldnt put low grade petrol into my car so why would i continue putting low grade sugary calorie laden fatty foods into my body which is the vehicle im useing to live my life. Respect is my mantra, self respect. Have a great day everybody we can all do this and lead healthier happier lives.xxxx Happy Friday all.xo

julie ann, your video today has really made me think, what you say is so true, once you stop pushing that rock and stop for break it is REALLY hard to get going ive been trying my best to get it going again since wednesday, it was soooo not worth it, i really really really want this, so from today im not gonna stop pushing that rock im not giving in to my head tantrums anymore, i know i can do it i done near 4 weeks great before this

good luck to anyone starting the diet, we can all do it, forget the head tantrums

the mantras that help me are “no matter what is influencing me, it is still my hand that puts the food into my month” AND “dont be a fat girl”

    • Author gravatar

      Good morning.

My mantra is “chipping away at that rock just a little every day is better than carrying it around forever! Chipping and sculpting my new me body shape in my mind, will help to make it real”

GOOD LUCK to everyone today, stay on track and you will soon see the benefit.

      Hey Julz,

Thanks again for the videos and for doing them over the weekend, I have a few that keep me going.

But the one that gets me is ” i did that to myself … never again” followed by WOO HOO 1,2,3,4,5, lbs gone, ect… It sounds harsh but i did do it to myself, i let my weight get to that level… followed by the WOO HOO give me a positive outlook for the rest of the day with out loosing sight of what it is that got me there in the first place.

its sad to say but slimmer people do have a better quality of life, they do more and are happier within them selves. I am making big changes in my life, stopped smoking, loosing weight, by the end of the year i want to look at older photos and say i did that to myself but never again… i am at my goal weight and i am all round “happy, healthy, person” …

I am happy i am healthy will take me through and maintain my weight after.

      • Author gravatar

Hi Lolli, do you count right up to the total number of pounds lost?? That is VERY EFFECTIVE!! Wow – I LOVE THAT IDEA! It will make you realise how far you have come!

        Good luck sweetie xx

      Hi There

Just want to say that I love the videos, find them so motivational, am still taking it one day at a time but def. get a boost to my moral after listening to your video and reading comments from others. Some of the mantras above are very inspirational as well. Cannot ‘weight’ to see where I’ll be on 31st May. My mantra is ‘ I want to be happy and not snappy about my weight, I CAN do this, I CAN do this, I WILL do this.

      Thanks

i don’t have a short mantra that i use but i hav a few longer ones that i use everyday which has really helped me stick to this 100percent for so long..it depends on the situation..
if i had social event, meal etc to go to..i say to myself yes i can still go and just drink sparkling water and bring a snack food if need be. I wil feel empowered knowing that there is no junk going into my body and ill be down on the scales the nxt day!!
when im cooking for my family i normally have my meal after they hav eaten.helps to know u have that to look 4ward to.there’s lotsa things u can do to get ur head right to guarantee results but i think you must be fully committed and want to lose the weight. From day one I said to myself I refuse to cheat cos im only fooling myself..and i def don’t wanna waste my own time! Over the last 3 months I’ve changed in lots of ways..all for the better thanks to this diet!!hope everyone has a gr8 fat free wknd xxx:-)

      • Author gravatar

“I wil feel empowered knowing that there is no junk going into my body and ill be down on the scales the nxt day!!” LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!

Some brilliant tips there Lisa! Thank you for sharing xx

    • Author gravatar

My mantra is : work your hardest to make the outside match the inside!! I repeat this over and over each day to myself, and when I am out running I keep saying just a little bit more, just a little further…and its a great feeling when you realize how far those little words actually take you.

    • Author gravatar

“the pain of disipline is less than the pain of regret”…..love this as it reminds me of how I might feel should I break my diet/exercise!!

Loving the daily uploads by the way Julz. xx

Hi Julz, my mantra is “I’m on top of the world and i have NO intentions of falling off”

    • Author gravatar

Great video Julz, thank you πŸ™‚ I know I’m in this until I reach my goal, and I know that with the New You Plan I can’t fail. Because for the first time ever on a diet, it feels like I’m not on a diet πŸ™‚ I really luv it πŸ™‚ Really my mantra is to do it pound by pound until I get to my goal… But being the messer I am my mantra coming towards the summer is… “I’d rather glisten like a lady, then sweat like a pig” πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Hope everyone is doing great today πŸ™‚ xoxo

Well done as always Julie Ann,
If you want to change some things in your life – you have to change some things in your life. Break the bad habits. Lillian

Hi, How do you update the leaderboard. I am down 4.5 pouunds

    • Author gravatar

      well done dawn xoxox

    • Author gravatar

Julz its like you are reading my mind each day, when I started this I was going to do 3 weeks then refeed for this weekend so I could have a few glasses of wine but after your video Im not going to bother, we are away in our Mobile for the weekend, normally that means meeting up with friends for a few drinks but hey why cant that just be sparkling water for me, answer: no reason! I was going to allow myself some chicken and salad in the evenings as well but thinking now I wont bother, I am bringing enough of my food to do me all weekend and see how I go. My mantra is “Its all about me”, Im allowing myself to be selfish, if I want to go to bed early, if I want to go for a walk etc after all the years of looking after everyone else Im now looking after No 1, which I know will benefit everyone in the long run x

      Hi all.

My new food mantra is ‘He who eats when he is full, digs his grave with his own teeth’

A bit dark I know!! But I like it πŸ™‚

Hi all, hope the bank holiday weekend is starting well for you πŸ™‚

Well I can’t really use my No. 1 mantra here cos first you need to have read a lengthy piece written by a lady on the Minimins site. If I have room here I’ll copy and paste it in the next message.

My mantra is “if you always do, what you always did – you will always get, what you always got”

      Be good,
      Denise

The mantra I use ALL the time is, and apologies if this offends anyone, “Fuck Off Fred”

To see why take a look at this, I have swiped from a post on another WL support site and it is written by one of their contributors.

      Changing Habits Using Fred:

My piano students know Fred well. Fred lives inside them. He’s their automatic pilot.

When they play something incorrectly, Fred learns very quickly and then Fred can take over and play that passage for them.

This is vital to playing a new piece. It’s vital for all of us. We have to have that automatic pilot so deal with every day routines, or in their case playing passages automatically so they can concentrate on other things.

Can you imagine going for a walk and thinking “now I have to put my right foot forward…now I have to put my left foot forward”. We just do it without thinking. We’ve taught Fred how to do it so we can use other parts of our brain to decide where we are going etc.

So Fred is a quick learner. He takes over routine actions. Sometimes they teach Fred the wrong notes, or the wrong timing, and they have to take control of Fred for a while to teach him a better way. But if Fred has learnt this section incorrectly for a long time, he doesn’t like change. He has to scrub out what he has learnt and relearn it again. He’s resistant, because the way he was used to doing it was easier and we always tend to go for the easiest way out. It makes sense.

So I go through their piece. We work out what sections Fred can play beautifully, and which sections they have to play. The parts they have to take control of to re-teach Fred.

I tell them that I can teach them, but I can’t teach Fred. That’s their job. Fred wont automatically play the section correctly unless they’ve taught him over and over again. And yes, Fred does learn quick, but relearning is harder for him. It’s easier to write on a plain piece of paper and read it back, than one that has to be rubbed out first and written over.

So they go home and their job is to teach Fred what I have taught them. They have the intellectual understanding of how the piece needs to be played, but they have to put that into practice in their piece.

It’s no good just expecting Fred to be able to do, just because they want him to, or because they’ve done it 3 times. They have to teach him so well that Fred just does it.

It’s the same with us and food. Food is rewarding, and our Fred is used to grabbing it automatically if we are in a certain place at a certain time, or during certain emotions. He’s our automatic pilot. We just let him do and then wonder why he’s done it, when we know it’s wrong.

We have to take control of Fred. We have to stop and say “hang on mate…wrong move…this is how we do it”. At the beginning it’s hard because we are so used to letting him take over once he’s been primed, but we have to take that responsibility back from him, to stop him going into the next action and completing the whole routine.

So my students come in the next week and open up their music. We may discuss which parts Fred can play and which parts they are playing because Fred hasn’t learnt it sufficiently yet.

We’ll discuss how their parts need more conscious awareness. How they may need to slow down at that point. What they are going to do. Which note, which finger, which rhythm. And they play, then they take control from Fred when they get to that section. Of course…should add that they are ultimately in control of whole piece…it’s not completely mindless, just like us going for a walk and doing the right foot, left foot thing.

But they have to plan it. They have to know where it is that goes wrong, what they are going to do about it, and then do it. No long talks with themselves over why they should or shouldn’t, they just need to do it to get the results they want.

But they have to plan, and they have to practice to teach Fred. It doesn’t just happen because they know what they should be doing.

It wont happen because I’ve told them, or because they’ve read a book on it, or had a pricey lesson They still have to teach Fred themselves. And they have to want to. And they have to be patient with him. And they have to be strict with him and not let him bully them around.

But once aware of what he’s doing, and knowing we want something different, it’s just a case of doing it. Teaching Fred so he can do that bit without us having to think too much about it.

Why regret anything in life? You can’t change it, and its a part of why you are who you are today. Every event or challenge in life good or bad and the way you deal with it paves the way for the person you are tomorrow, and tomorrow I WILL be thinner, sexier and happy in my new body – the NEW ME thanks to NEW YOU.Embrace it and move on!!!!
